NVIDIA has announced a major collaboration with SK Group to construct a state-of-the-art AI factory that will revolutionize semiconductor research, development, and production in South Korea. The partnership will also expand cloud infrastructure to support advanced digital twin and AI agent development, marking a significant leap toward the nation’s AI-driven industrial transformation.
SK Group is developing this massive AI factory, which will feature over 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs, with the first phase expected to be completed by late 2027. Once fully operational, it will become one of Korea’s largest AI factories, serving as a cornerstone for the country’s next-generation innovation ecosystem.

The new AI factory will not only cater to SK subsidiaries including SK hynix and SK Telecom (SKT) but also extend its services to external organizations through a GPU-as-a-service model. This initiative aims to accelerate digital transformation and industrial modernization across Korea’s core sectors.
Expanding their collaboration, NVIDIA and SK Group are jointly developing SK hynix high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and next-generation advanced memory solutions optimized for NVIDIA GPUs. These advancements will strengthen semiconductor manufacturing and telecommunications infrastructure, driving global competitiveness in the AI economy.
“In the era of AI, a new kind of manufacturing plant has emerged: the AI factory,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “SK Group is a vital memory technology partner, helping NVIDIA create the world’s most advanced GPU computing platforms that power global AI progress. We are delighted to partner with SK to build its AI foundation on NVIDIA accelerated computing and software, creating AI factories that will transform SK and energize Korea’s AI ecosystem.”
Chey Tae-Won, chairman of SK Group, added, “SK Group is working with NVIDIA to make AI the engine of a profound transformation that will enable industries across Korea to transcend traditional limits of scale, speed and precision. With the NVIDIA AI factory as our foundation, SK Group will forge the infrastructure that powers the next generation of memory, robotics, digital twins and intelligent AI agents.”
The upcoming SK Group AI factory infrastructure will also support sovereign AI model developers under the Korean government’s Sovereign AI Foundation Models project. SK Telecom is participating as a model developer, providing foundation models for enterprises, industries, and researchers engaged in AI agent and application development.

Furthermore, SK Telecom is leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs to build an industrial AI cloud that enhances physical AI and robotics development. The initial deployment will include over 2,000 NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, empowering semiconductor manufacturing, fab digital twins, and AI agents.
Meanwhile, SK hynix is using NVIDIA’s CUDA-X technologies and the PhysicsNeMo framework to accelerate chip design through AI physics. These tools enable faster, more precise semiconductor development and optimize circuit simulations with NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. Additionally, SK hynix is constructing autonomous fab digital twins using NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and RTX PRO Servers, enabling real-time monitoring and optimization to achieve self-optimizing manufacturing systems.
To further boost workforce efficiency, SKT is developing a foundation model named A.X., powered by NVIDIA NIM microservices and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise platform. This model will drive SK hynix’s AI agents, helping over 40,000 employees streamline collaboration and accelerate innovation across chip design and fabrication.
Through this strategic alliance, NVIDIA and SK Group are not only building Korea’s largest AI infrastructure but also laying the foundation for a future defined by AI-powered manufacturing, robotics, and digital innovation.
