Addressing the Challenges of Modern IT

IT teams today face mounting pressure to handle diverse workloads while controlling costs, navigating vendor lock-in, and adapting to evolving virtualization requirements. To meet these demands, many organizations are moving toward disaggregated private clouds. These clouds leverage virtualization-optimized compute, storage, and cyber resilience solutions, offering greater flexibility, choice, and control over critical data.

Dell Private Cloud, powered by the Dell Automation Platform, supports both on-premises and SaaS deployment options. It allows customers to automate, scale, and manage private cloud environments using their preferred cloud OS stack alongside Dell’s disaggregated infrastructure, including PowerStore, PowerFlex, and PowerMax. AI-driven automation simplifies infrastructure management and monitoring, while the integration of Dell NativeEdge provides a secure, full-stack solution for distributed cloud and edge operations.

Innovations in Storage and Cyber Resilience

Dell has introduced significant upgrades across its storage and cyber resilience portfolio.

  • Dell PowerStore now offers QLC drive models and Nutanix Cloud Platform integration, combining enterprise-grade storage with modern virtualization support. The latest enhancements deliver AI-accelerated automation, improved cost-efficiency, and enhanced resiliency. PowerStore 5200Q, for instance, provides high-capacity performance, flexible scaling up to 25PB per cluster, and optimized workload placement.
  • Dell PowerFlex introduces the Scalable Availability Engine (SAE), a fully distributed, erasure-coded architecture that improves storage efficiency and resilience. PowerFlex now achieves up to 80% storage efficiency and tolerates up to two simultaneous node failures while maintaining operational continuity for critical workloads.
  • Dell PowerMax enhances mission-critical performance with up to 25% greater throughput, advanced automation, QLC drive support, and enterprise-grade security features like Single Sign-On via Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Dell PowerProtect strengthens cyber resilience for virtual, cloud-native, and containerized workloads. New solutions, including the PowerProtect Data Domain DD3410 and Data Manager Appliance, provide centralized management, anomaly detection, and data immutability to ensure rapid recovery and robust threat protection.

“With our Nutanix Cloud Platform soon supporting Dell PowerStore, we will be giving customers a new choice in how they architect their virtualized environments,” said Thomas Cornely, senior vice president, Product Management at Nutanix.

“Organizations today face the dual challenge of managing traditional and modern workloads while navigating rising costs and evolving IT demands,” added Simon Robinson, principal analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group, now part of Omdia. “Dell’s latest advancements provide a flexible foundation for private clouds, enabling greater efficiency, security, and scalability.”
