Simple AI, an innovative voice AI agent platform, has successfully raised $14 million in a seed funding round led by First Harmonic, with participation from Y Combinator, Massive Tech Ventures, and True Ventures. The startup plans to use this investment to enhance its voice agent platform, develop custom generative AI models, and expand analytics and customer insights for businesses across industries.
“Building voice agents that outperform human sales teams is a complex task, and I’m immensely proud of what our team has achieved,” said Catheryn Li, co-founder and CEO of Simple AI.

Enhancing Customer Interactions with AI
Simple AI leverages cutting-edge voice AI technology to automate inbound sales and support calls. The platform integrates a business’ entire product catalog including SKUs, metadata, and pricing and personalizes every customer interaction in real time. Agents can take actions such as placing orders on behalf of customers while generating a complete transcript, summary, and actionable insights from each call.
Moreover, Simple AI prioritizes low latency, ensuring its voice AI models respond in under 850 milliseconds across the system including voice activity detection, end-of-turn processing, transcription, inference, and text-to-speech. This rapid response enables natural and seamless conversations between businesses and consumers.
“People hate calling businesses today because the experience is terrible,” Li explained. “When voice agents are so good at their job that it becomes a delightful experience, everyone will prefer calling again. Phone calls will increase because voice is the most natural way to express yourself and interact with the world. Building voice agents that outperform human sales teams is a complex task, and I’m immensely proud of what our team has achieved.”
Solving Key Contact Center Challenges
Simple AI addresses three major pain points in contact centers: seasonality, worker inefficiency, and inconsistent performance. Its technology scales during spikes in demand, learns from top-performing human reps, and maintains consistency that is impossible for humans to achieve. Businesses can also experiment with agent speed, gender, and accent, while customizing calls based on a customer’s preferences, purchase history, and product interactions.
“Imagine your top performing rep picking up every call,” said Zach Kamran, co-founder and CTO of Simple AI. “Simple agents know every detail about every product SKU, and all of your customer preferences in an instant.”

Proven Results Across Industries
Simple AI’s voice agents already support businesses selling everything from steak to self-storage to home insurance, converting and upselling up to 30% more often than trained live representatives.
“Cat and Zach are among the best we work with,” said First Harmonic Partner JJ Fliegelman. “Without fanfare, they quietly built their own entire voice AI stack from the ground up so that they could have the best product. They’re both great engineers, low on ego, and customer-obsessed exactly what you look for in great founders.”
