Neo4j, the leading graph intelligence platform, announced a $100 million investment aimed at accelerating its role as the default knowledge layer for agentic systems and foundational infrastructure for generative AI (GenAI). The funding will drive product innovation, introduce two new agentic offerings, and launch one of the largest startup programs for AI-native companies, supporting 1,000 startups globally within the next year.

The investment addresses a critical enterprise challenge: moving GenAI from pilot projects to production. Research from MIT highlights that 95% of GenAI pilots fail to deliver returns due to “model quality fails without context” and limitations in memory and contextual learning. Neo4j provides the infrastructure layer enterprises need to minimize wasted AI spend, deliver accurate, explainable outcomes, and scale AI in real-world environments.

Agentic systems are the future of software. They need contextual reasoning, persistent memory, and accurate, traceable outputs, all of which graph technology is uniquely designed to deliver,” said Emil Eifrem, Co-Founder and CEO of Neo4j. “Neo4j transforms disconnected data into actionable knowledge, and this investment allows us to advance that vision faster.”

New Products Simplify AI Agent Development

Neo4j introduced two solutions to simplify building AI agents grounded in enterprise data. Neo4j Aura Agent, now in early access, allows organizations to build, test, and deploy AI agents within minutes using automated orchestration and AIOps for graph-based knowledge retrieval. General availability is planned for Q4. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server integrates graph-based memory and reasoning into existing AI applications, supporting natural language queries, automated graph modeling, and memory persistence. Both products together enable enterprises to deploy agentic AI that is reliable, explainable, and production-ready.

“Enterprise knowledge graphs represent critical infrastructure for reliable agentic AI,” said Conor O’Shea, AI Architect at Daimler Truck. “Neo4j’s graph capabilities bring the accuracy and contextual reasoning AI systems need to operate effectively.”

Expanding AI-Native Startup Support

Neo4j’s Startup Program will select and support over 1,000 AI-native startups worldwide, offering cloud credits, technical enablement, and go-to-market support. “Eight out of ten GenAI-native startups I speak with are re-platforming on Neo4j,” said David Klein, Co-Founder of One Peak and Neo4j Board Director. The program already includes 208 members, such as Firework, Hyperlinear, and Rivio, enabling them to leverage graph technology to model complex business relationships accurately.

Leadership and Market Growth

Neo4j promoted Sudhir Hasbe to President and Chief Product Officer and appointed Mark Woodhams as Chief Revenue Officer. Ajay Singh joined as Head of Global Field Engineering to oversee solutions engineering, architecture, and customer success.

With 84 of the Fortune 100 using Neo4j, the platform powers autonomous agentic systems at Uber, Walmart, and Klarna, providing structured memory, relationships, and context. Over the past year, Neo4j achieved 6X GenAI customer growth, 58% cloud revenue increase, and expanded footprint with 56% of top 100 customers.

“Neo4j is transforming how enterprises turn data into knowledge, which is essential for AI to work at scale,” said Patrick Pichette, Partner at Inovia Capital and Neo4j Board Director.
