EdgeConneX, a global pioneer in build- to-suit and build -to-density data center solutions, is pleased to announce the acquisition of a second data center site in the Osaka and Yawata regions of Japan , bringing the total installed capacity of the data center platform to 350 kilowatts of utility power and further demonstrating the region’s significant scalability potential. Upon completion, the second site will add 150 kilowatts of capacity, surpassing the previously announced 200 kilowatt project in Japan.
On August 7, the company held a signing ceremony with the landowner, Keihan Real Estate, a comprehensive developer built on Keihan’s century-old railway roots. Keihan Group, led by Keihan Real Estate, comprises 50 companies with core businesses spanning transportation, real estate, retail distribution, and leisure/services.

This expansion milestone follows EdgeConneX’s announcement of its first project in Japan in January 2025. Construction on the 200-kilowatt facility is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with first-phase operations expected to begin by the fourth quarter of 2027.
