Dify, an open-source platform that enables teams to build, deploy, and operate production-grade AI applications and agentic workflows, has announced that it raised $30 million in Series Pre-A funding at a $180 million valuation. HSG led the funding round, while investors such as GL Ventures, Alt-Alpha Capital a newly formed spin-out from Bessemer Venture Partners 5Y Capital, Mizuho Leaguer Investment, and NYX Ventures also participated.

As artificial intelligence continues to move beyond experimentation, many organizations are now focusing on deploying AI solutions in real business environments. Consequently, companies increasingly prefer to build domain-specific workflows tailored to their operations instead of relying on generic, one-size-fits-all tools. In response to this growing demand, Dify provides a dedicated platform layer that allows teams to transform AI concepts into operational systems. As a result, organizations can transition from simply purchasing AI tools to actively building and managing their own AI-driven solutions in a reliable and scalable way.

Since its launch in 2023, Dify has rapidly gained traction within the developer and enterprise communities. Notably, the platform ranks among GitHub’s most-starred open-source repositories of all time and currently runs on more than 1.4 million machines worldwide. Furthermore, over 2,000 teams and 280 enterprises actively use the commercial versions of Dify. These organizations include well-known global companies such as Maersk, ETS, Anker Innovations, and Novartis, highlighting the platform’s growing enterprise adoption.

“AI is moving from demos to production systems, and teams need infrastructure they can operate with confidence,” said Luyu Zhang, founder and CEO of Dify. “We built Dify so teams can turn their domain knowledge and workflows into production-grade AI applications without rebuilding the stack each time. This funding accelerates our work to make agentic workflows more reliable, more observable, and easier for organizations to adopt at scale.”

To support enterprise-grade deployments, Dify offers a visual workflow builder that simplifies the process of designing AI applications. At the same time, the platform delivers essential engineering capabilities required for large-scale production environments. These features include prompt management, tool integrations, knowledge retrieval systems, debugging tools, and API deployment. Positioned between foundation models and business systems, the platform helps organizations operationalize AI workflows while maintaining operational visibility, governance, and administrative control.

Today, organizations use Dify across multiple business functions. For instance, companies deploy the platform to automate document review pipelines, build internal copilots powered by enterprise knowledge bases, enhance customer support systems with intelligent escalation paths, and manage operational tasks such as invoice auditing and correspondence drafting.

“Dify gave us a practical way to move beyond prototypes and actually operationalize AI workflows. We were able to turn real business processes into maintainable systems, without rebuilding infrastructure every time,” said Mark Sear, Director of AI Solutions Engineering at Maersk.

Meanwhile, investors believe the company is well-positioned to benefit from the rapid growth of AI application infrastructure.

“We believe the AI application layer is at an early but accelerating phase, and platforms that standardize AI development workflows are likely to capture durable value,” said Kui Zhou, Partner at HSG. “We look forward to supporting Dify as they expand the platform and grow the ecosystem.”

Looking ahead, Dify plans to use the newly secured funding to accelerate its 2026 product roadmap. Specifically, the company aims to integrate advanced agent capabilities directly into the core platform, expand its enterprise product team to focus on performance and compliance, and launch new initiatives that support its growing builder community. In addition, Dify will introduce product updates designed to further reduce adoption barriers and enable more teams to build production-ready AI solutions.
