ClickHouse, Inc., the creator of the world’s fastest real-time analytics database, has officially acquired LibreChat, a prominent open-source AI chat platform that unifies interactions with large language models (LLMs). With this acquisition, LibreChat’s founder Danny Avila and his entire team will join ClickHouse, marking a significant milestone in advancing open-source AI-driven analytics.

Together, ClickHouse and LibreChat are laying the foundation for the open-source Agentic Data Stack, a next-generation framework designed to help teams deploy AI agents capable of analyzing and acting on massive datasets through natural language. This innovative shift toward agentic analytics is already reshaping how organizations like Shopify, Daimler Truck, Fetch, and cBioPortal leverage data for intelligent decision-making, proving its real-world value across industries.

At Shopify, LibreChat has become central to its AI ecosystem. “LibreChat powers reflexive AI use across Shopify. With near universal adoption and thousands of custom agents, teams use it to solve real problems, increase productivity, and keep the quality bar high. By connecting more than 30 internal MCP servers, it democratizes access to critical information across the company,” said Matt Burnett, Senior Engineer at Shopify.

In the healthcare sector, cBioPortal is already using the combined ClickHouse and LibreChat Agentic Data Stack to expand research capabilities. “By leveraging the ClickHouse, MCP, and LibreChat stack, we rapidly delivered a prototype to cBioPortal users that empowered them to ask entirely new questions about cancer genomics and treatment trajectories, get quick answers, and explore data in ways not possible through the existing UI,” said Ino de Bruijn, Manager of Bioinformatics Software Engineering at cBioPortal. “It puts discovery at cancer researchers’ fingertips.”

Importantly, existing LibreChat deployments will remain unaffected, with ongoing investments in the open-source community. ClickHouse users will soon experience deeper integration features, including native LibreChat support, enhanced data visualization, enterprise-grade security, and a semantic layer optimized for large-scale analytics.
