Digital analytics leader Amplitude has taken a significant step in integrating real-time behavioral insights directly into AI tools by publicly releasing its Amplitude MCP (Model Context Protocol) server and announcing the open beta for its AI Agents. This development allows companies to access Amplitude’s trusted behavioral data directly within the AI platforms they already use, including Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client.

With this integration, users can pose questions in plain language such as “What features drove the most retention this month?” or “What caused the drop in sign-ups last week?” and receive instant answers based on live Amplitude data. This reduces the need to toggle between multiple dashboards, enabling teams to focus on understanding customer behavior, identifying friction points, and taking actions that improve the overall experience.

“Behavioral context is one of the most critical inputs behind every great product and digital experience. The problem is, AI tools are only as good as the context they leverage,” explained Wade Chambers, Chief Engineering Officer at Amplitude.

He added, “Amplitude already captures and organizes behavioral data across the full user journey. So by extending this into MCP-enabled environments like Claude, we’re giving AI direct, governed access to that data. This makes the context instantly available and marks a major step toward the insights-to-actions loop becoming automatic.”

Innovative clients such as Zip are already benefiting from this integration. Moss Pauly, Technical Product Manager, Data & AI at Zip, commented, “Amplitude’s MCP is a real game-changer. We’ve been able to embed our internal domain knowledge how certain events are used to drive complex analysis directly into an LLM’s context and have it interact seamlessly with Amplitude. It’s opening up access to cross-domain insights that previously only a few specialists could uncover. It’s a genuine step change in democratizing data across the organisation.”

In addition, Amplitude is expanding its AI capabilities through the open beta of Amplitude AI Agents, first introduced in a limited beta in June. These intelligent assistants continuously monitor product data, detect anomalies, and surface actionable insights before teams even ask. By enabling automated analysis, the agents help teams move faster, scale decision-making, and turn analytics into a proactive, always-on system that drives growth.

The beta program launches with two AI Agents:

  • Dashboard Agent: Automatically analyzes dashboards, highlights significant changes, detects key trends, performs root-cause analysis, generates charts on demand, and proactively delivers insights via Slack, email, or directly in Amplitude.
  • Session Replay Agent: Provides end-to-end qualitative analysis of session replays, identifies behavioral patterns and friction points, and shares curated replay playlists for faster investigation.

With these releases, Amplitude strengthens its mission to empower companies to make smarter, faster, and context-driven decisions using AI-enhanced behavioral data.
