In the most recent installment in our AI Tech Top Voice series, we are excited to share ideas with James Taylor, who is currently the Global Lead, Enterprise Transformation Platforms and Offerings at DXC Technology. James’ career has revolved around the crossroads of enterprise software, cloud, and services. Today, he assists global customers in realizing the true value of new technologies such as AI and automation. His mission is to “reimagine how enterprises work to remove decades-old barriers to change, really using technology to drive growth.”
At DXC, James focuses on supporting customers through difficult and often painful transformations — replacing legacy middleware, vintage data tooling, or securely embedding AI agents into existing mission-critical systems. However, while many broadcasting futurists, what differentiates James is his pragmatism; he understands that transformation isn’t about having a lot of shiny new things, nor is it about building new tools; it’s about building a new mindset and developing agile and scalable platforms that produce outcomes. Now, after decades in data-rich enterprise environments, James is applying his experience to support organizations simply complexity, maximizing value from data, and leaning confidently into AI.
About James Taylor: A veteran and enterprise technology leader with the mission of whetting your appetite and leveraging his experience with communities to turn experiences into meaningful, purposeful, and scalable transformation. James is working at DXC to help enable pathways to emerging technologies like AI and automation, so that clients can embed these technologies into the way their enterprise operates, rather than just become an experimental project they’ve set in motion.

Here’s the full interview.
AI Technology Insights (AIT): Hi James. Welcome to the AI Technology Top Voice Interview Series. Please tell us about your current role at DXC Technology and your journey in the industry.
James Taylor: Thank you for having me. I lead DXC’s Enterprise Transformation Platforms and Offerings, which is a part of our Consulting & Engineering Services team. Increasingly, my work is really focused on helping us customers globally unlock the value of emerging technologies like AI across their platforms – it’s also about ensuring our customers have platforms that allow them to be agile – so technology can really be a growth driver for the business. A big focus for us is rethinking how enterprises operate using AI and automation to solve challenges that have slowed businesses down for decades. Over my career, I have worked across enterprise software, cloud, and services, and what drives me now is applying that experience to deliver practical, scalable transformation for our customers.

AIT: The DXC–Boomi partnership emphasizes application modernization through cloud-native integration solutions. How is DXC enabling enterprises to replace outdated middleware and accelerate transformation?
James Taylor: One of the biggest barriers to transformation is technical debt. Outdated middleware and fragmented integration layers cannot keep up with today’s demands. Through our partnership with Boomi, we are replacing those legacy systems with modern, cloud-native integration solutions. This means faster deployment, reusable assets, and accelerators that make it easier for enterprises to connect systems across HR, finance, supply chain, and beyond. Customers can modernize faster while reducing cost and complexity.
AIT: AI-driven migration and data readiness are key pillars of this partnership. Can you elaborate on how combining Boomi’s AI-powered automation with DXC’s engineering capabilities helps customers streamline mission-critical systems like order management, logistics, and finance?
James Taylor: AI is only as good as the data it has access to. Too often, enterprises are dealing with siloed or poor-quality data spread across what can be hundreds of systems spanning multiple geographies. By combining Boomi’s AI-driven automation with DXC’s engineering expertise, we are enabling customers to seamlessly connect mission-critical systems such as order management, logistics, finance, and inventory so they work together as one. The result is greater efficiency, quicker decisions, and the flexibility to respond to market changes in real time.
AIT: Agentic transformation is a significant part of this collaboration, leveraging Boomi’s Agentstudio. How does DXC ensure that Agentstudio works securely and intelligently across complex IT environments, and what operational advantages does this provide to customers?
James Taylor: We help run some of the most complex IT estates in the world, and there’s no one better at what we do. Our role at DXC has always been to help our customers simplify, secure, and modernize those environments—and that deep industry experience helps shape how we’re approaching agentic AI with Boomi.
Our expertise in managing complex IT systems means we can help ensure Boomi’s Agentstudio works securely and intelligently across critical systems. Ultimately that means we can create the conditions for AI agents to operate effectively across an enterprise and at scale. With strong governance, compliance, and oversight, we’re helping customers deploy AI agents confidently, knowing they will deliver real outcomes while operating securely.

AIT: DXC and Boomi are co-creating solutions and reusable assets for shared clients. Can you share examples of how these joint initiatives have accelerated customer modernization or simplified complex integrations?
James Taylor: A big part of this partnership is the Boomi Center of Excellence at DXC. It is both a delivery hub and an innovation space, where our teams use Boomi’s best practices and proven tools to tackle customer challenges. Through the CoE, we are developing reusable assets, accelerators, and implementation patterns that give customers a more consistent and efficient path to modernization. This lets them build on tried-and-tested approaches instead of starting from scratch each time. The result is simpler integrations, faster delivery, and a higher level of confidence that transformation will be done securely and meet the right standards.
AIT: Finally, how do you envision DXC’s technology offerings evolving over the next few years to address emerging trends in AI, automation, and enterprise modernization?
James Taylor: We see a future where AI tools are not just used in pockets but sit at the heart of how enterprises run. For DXC, that means expanding our focus on secure AI integration, automation, and industry-specific accelerators. We will continue to focus on platforms and partnerships that simplify complexity for our customers, whether that’s through cloud-native modernization, multi-agent orchestration, or advanced analytics. The goal is to give customers the tools they need now, along with the runway to be ready for what’s next.
AIT: What are your predictions for cloud-based cybersecurity and compliance management in the healthcare and financial services industries?
James Taylor: Organizations in highly regulated sectors often face the greatest pressure to modernize while meeting strict standards of security and compliance. As more workloads move to the cloud, cybersecurity and compliance will no longer be treated as separate checks. They will need to be built into the core of enterprise architecture.
I expect we will see much wider use of embedded AI-driven compliance frameworks and real-time monitoring capabilities that allow organizations to stay ahead of regulations. Partnerships that combine secure integration with strong governance, such as what DXC and Boomi are delivering, will be essential to helping these industries innovate with confidence and trust.
