Destinus Group BV has successfully acquired Daedalean AG, the Zürich-based leader in advanced AI aviation systems, in a transaction valued at CHF 180 million (approximately USD 225 million). Following the acquisition, Daedalean will operate as a central hub within Destinus, driving AI engineering, autonomy research, and advanced perception technologies.
With this integration, Daedalean’s team and technology will continue to advance AI development for civilian aviation, focusing on safety-critical autonomy, pilot assistance, and next-generation navigation and perception systems. Moreover, the acquisition enables Destinus to accelerate defense-focused AI initiatives. These initiatives include GNSS-denied navigation for contested environments, advanced perception and seeker technologies for interceptors, cruise missiles, and one-way effectors. Additionally, Destinus will leverage Daedalean’s expertise for mission planning and autonomous decision-making on high-speed defense platforms. The partnership will also enhance swarming and multi-agent coordination for mass-deployed unmanned systems, alongside sensor fusion integrated with onboard AI reasoning to ensure resilient battlefield operations.

This acquisition strengthens Destinus’ capacity to deliver sovereign European AI solutions across its autonomous systems portfolio. Consequently, the company reinforces its model of vertically integrated, industrial-scale defense production while simultaneously supporting national defense requirements and driving long-term modernization of civil aviation.
Bas Gouverneur, formerly CEO of Daedalean, will assume the role of Chief Military Program Officer at Destinus. He will oversee military programs, shape advanced autonomy strategy, and manage the integration of Daedalean’s AI stack into Destinus’ defense platforms. In addition, Yvonne Gross, previously Daedalean’s VP of Finance & Operations, joins Destinus as Director of Operations and Infrastructure. She will lead industrial scale-up, operational frameworks, and cross-site coordination throughout Europe.

Destinus also appointed Brontë Hamilton as its new Chief Financial Officer. Hamilton brings extensive finance experience and will guide the company’s financial strategy and capital structuring during its rapid expansion phase.
