Company achieves major milestones in global expansion, product innovation and strategic partnerships

ZEDEDA, the leader in edge management and orchestration, announced substantial growth in 2024, marked by doubling both revenue and edge nodes under management. This strong performance reflects ZEDEDA’s expanded traction across industries and into new verticals, including energy, transportation, manufacturing, retail and agriculture, as enterprises increasingly adopt edge computing for their digital initiatives.

“Edge AI and computing have reached an inflection point, and our success in several new verticals is an indicator of a maturing market and the broad customer demand for edge computing platforms”

Edge AI and computing have reached an inflection point, and our success in several new verticals is an indicator of a maturing market and the broad customer demand for edge computing platforms,” said Said Ouissal, ZEDEDA’s CEO and founder. “Our market-leading solution has been built to solve the unique challenges of edge environments across industries. Our growth demonstrates that enterprises are ready to move beyond proof-of-concept to deploy edge platforms at scale.”

According to Gartner’s Market Guide for Edge Computing Platforms, 30% of enterprises will be using edge computing platform software and/or services for their edge computing architecture by 2029.* Additionally, Gartner predicts at least 60% of edge computing deployments will use composite AI (predictive and generative AI), compared to less than 5% in 2023.** These forecasts underscore both the market’s growth potential and the increasing strategic importance of edge computing for enterprises.

$72M Series C and Strategic Middle East Investment Fuel Global Expansion

ZEDEDA began 2024 with a $72 million Series C round, led by Smith Point Capital and former Salesforce Co-CEO Keith Block. New investors included Hillman Company, LDV Partners, Endeavor Catalyst Fund and Forward Investments (DEWA), alongside existing investors Lux Capital, Almaz Capital, Coast Range Capital, Juniper Networks and Emerson Ventures. Following the round, accomplished operations leader Lisa Edwards joined ZEDEDA’s board, bringing expertise from Colgate-Palmolive, LogicMonitor and Qualtrics.

Later in the year, the company secured additional investments from Alpha Wave Incubation and Prosperity7, Aramco Ventures’ diversified growth fund, supporting ZEDEDA’s Middle East expansion with a new regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi. These investments brought ZEDEDA’s total funding to over $140 million since its founding.

ZEDEDA Establishes Abu Dhabi Hub and Middle East Cloud Region

Building on its presence in the US, Germany and India, ZEDEDA expanded its global footprint in 2024. The new Abu Dhabi headquarters serves as a strategic hub for Middle East operations, housing sales, engineering and customer support teams. The company also launched a new Middle East cloud region, enabling customers to meet data residency requirements while leveraging cloud-native technologies and AI capabilities.

Executive Leadership Growth

In addition to double-digit growth in its global team, ZEDEDA strengthened its leadership team with strategic appointments to support its rapid growth:

Product Innovation and Security

In 2024, the company achieved ISO 27001 certification, demonstrating its commitment to maintaining the highest security standards. ZEDEDA also expanded its Edge Application Services portfolio with the launch of Edge Sync, an industry-first solution that enables customers to manage deployments both locally and from the cloud. This provides critical flexibility for air-gapped environments.

After introducing its Edge Kubernetes Service, an industry-first fully managed Kubernetes service for the distributed edge that addresses the challenges of managing Kubernetes clusters across disparate sites at extreme scale, in late 2023, ZEDEDA saw a notable uptick in Kubernetes deployments. The rapid adoption of predictive, computer vision and physical AI has also contributed to a surge in deployments, as customers turn to ZEDEDA to deploy AI models at the edge. ZEDEDA has tens of thousands of nodes under management globally.

Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Expansion

ZEDEDA strengthened its partner ecosystem through several strategic initiatives:

  • Integrated with OnLogic to provide rugged industrial hardware solutions optimized for edge computing.
  • Partnered with Edge Impulse to expand edge AI capabilities.
  • Added new marketplace partners, including OpenVPN and Losant.
  • Formed a strategic alliance with Anthosa Consulting.
  • Became a founding sponsor of Edge Monsters, an independent working group of enterprise architects sharing insights and best practices from large-scale production deployments.
