XING Mobility, a global leader in immersion-cooled battery systems, has taken a major leap into the AI data center market by launching the BBx800, the world’s first 800V high-voltage DC Backup Battery Unit (BBU) and Power Rack equipped with immersion-cooling technology. This new lineup directly tackles the increasing demands for higher power, greater efficiency, and stronger safety performance in AI-driven data centers. With this launch, the company officially expands its expertise from electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and advanced energy storage systems into the fast-growing AI data center power sector.

In addition, XING Mobility formed a strategic alliance with Acbel Polytech Inc., aiming to advance high-voltage direct current (HVDC) distribution technologies and accelerate the development of more sustainable and efficient data center power solutions.

Rising Data Center Demand Fuels XING Mobility’s Expansion

According to the latest International Energy Agency (IEA) research, global data center electricity consumption is expected to grow by roughly 15% annually from 2024 to 2030. By 2030, total demand is projected to double to nearly 945 terawatt-hours, making data centers one of the biggest contributors to global electricity growth. As a result, backup power is rapidly evolving into a critical operational asset for enterprises operating large-scale facilities and cloud infrastructure.

Leveraging years of experience with its patented IMMERSIO technology, XING Mobility built a solid foundation across high-performance EVs, commercial and heavy-duty machinery, and energy storage systems. Earlier this year, the company introduced the BBx48, its first immersion-cooled 48V DC backup battery for AI data centers a move that marked its entry into the sector. Now, the company is scaling upward to meet rising high-voltage and high-density power needs, completing a full product portfolio upgrade from 48V to 800V.

Founder and CEO Royce YC Hong emphasized the familiarity of the challenge: “XING Mobility has long cultivated expertise in electric vehicles, heavy industrial machinery, and energy storage systems, successfully meeting stringent requirements for high voltage, high power, and ultimate safety. AI data centers face the same challenges, requiring both efficiency and safety in high-density computing environments. For us, this is a familiar territory, simply extended from ground to cloud. Combining our unique high-voltage immersion-cooled technology with Taiwan’s comprehensive supply chain advantages, and partnering with power solution leaders like Acbel Polytech, we hope to continue creating innovation momentum for Taiwan at the intersection of energy and technology.”

BBx800: Delivering Up to 1.2MW of Stable Backup Power

The newly launched BBx800 uses full immersion-cooled technology, allowing every battery cell to operate in insulating cooling fluid at a stable 25–27°C. This approach dramatically lowers thermal-runaway risks and ensures long-term reliability under peak loads. One compact BBx800 module (2 OU) supports ±400V or 800V configurations, while a full 20 OU rack can deliver 1 MW for three minutes or 1.2 MW for 90 seconds, empowering data centers to navigate heavy computing surges smoothly.

High-voltage systems demand resilience under extreme conditions such as nail penetration, overheating, or overcharging areas where XING Mobility has decades of proven experience. That background allows the company to confidently expand into the stringent 800V market.

The BBx800 also supports 24/7 operation, includes a 10-year performance warranty, and offers hot-swappable modules with N+1 redundancy. Because of its integrated cooling design, the system fits seamlessly into standard racks and has already passed UL9540A compliance testing, strengthening its appeal for hyperscale operators planning long-term capacity.
