In a significant move that strengthens its global AI footprint, Vultr is preparing to launch a powerful AI supercluster fueled by AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs at its newly established cloud data center in Springfield, Ohio. This 50 MW facility marks a substantial expansion of Vultr’s compute capacity and is designed to deliver exceptional performance per dollar for both AI training and inference workloads.
Building on its early adoption of AMD’s advanced GPU lineup, Vultr was among the first cloud platforms to deploy the AMD Instinct MI325X and MI355X GPUs. Now, the company is scaling up its AI infrastructure even further by adding 24,000 additional AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs to the new Springfield campus. This massive deployment not only showcases Vultr’s rapid growth in the AI infrastructure space but also underscores the strength of its partnership with AMD. Moreover, Vultr plans to continue expanding its AMD-based stack by incorporating the upcoming AMD Instinct MI450 series GPUs and AMD’s “Helios” rack-scale architecture, reinforcing its long-term commitment to AMD’s AI hardware roadmap.

In discussing Vultr’s strategic vision, CEO J.J.
