Path Robotics, a global pioneer in physical AI for manufacturing, has announced the appointment of two highly respected industry veterans Frank Klein and Geoffrey Chatas as independent members of its board of directors. This strategic move underscores the company’s strong growth trajectory while reinforcing its long-term mission to bring physical AI into traditional manufacturing environments. As manufacturers worldwide face rising labor shortages and pressure to reshore production, Path Robotics continues to position itself as a critical enabler of smarter, more resilient industrial operations.
To begin with, Frank Klein, chief operations officer at Rocket Lab Corporation, brings more than three decades of hands-on leadership across some of the world’s most complex, manufacturing-intensive organizations. Over the years, Klein has played a pivotal role in scaling global production systems, particularly within the automotive sector. His career highlights include helping launch electric vehicles at Rivian, overseeing worldwide manufacturing for Mercedes-Benz Vans, and leading full vehicle engineering and production at Magna Steyr. Notably, Magna Steyr became the first contract manufacturer to produce an electric vehicle under his leadership. Today, Klein directs global operations at Rocket Lab, where precision manufacturing and advanced technology are core to the company’s success.

“Frank embodies the kind of bold, mission-driven leadership we value,” said Andy Lonsberry, co-founder and CEO of Path Robotics. “He is unafraid to take risks, driven by results, and relentlessly committed to building things that last. His deep expertise in scaling technically complex systems across continents, teams, and technologies makes him an invaluable addition as we scale physical AI for manufacturing and exponentially expand deployments.”
Reflecting on his decision to join the board, Klein emphasized how closely Path’s mission aligns with challenges he has witnessed throughout his career.
“I’ve spent decades in manufacturing plants and have felt firsthand the pain of missing production targets because we couldn’t hire or retain enough skilled welders,” said Klein. “What Path is building with physical AI directly addresses that challenge and has, and will continue to, truly revolutionize modern manufacturing. Helping Path to grow and solidify its leadership in the industry is an honor and a privilege.”
In addition, Path Robotics has welcomed Geoffrey Chatas, senior vice president for operations at Yale University, who adds significant depth in financial stewardship, governance, and large-scale operations. With more than 25 years of leadership experience, Chatas has successfully guided complex institutions through periods of transformation and growth. Before joining Yale, he served in senior roles at major academic institutions, including executive vice president at the University of Michigan, chief operating officer at Georgetown University, and chief financial officer at The Ohio State University. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance positions at organizations such as J.P. Morgan, Citibank, and American Electric Power.
“Geoff brings a disciplined, long-term perspective shaped by decades of leading complex institutions at scale,” said Lonsberry. “His expertise in capital strategy, governance, and operational excellence will be invaluable as we continue to grow and position Path for its next phase.”

Chatas also shared his enthusiasm for supporting Path’s continued momentum.
“Path is advancing solutions that are delivering meaningful impact across industrial manufacturing,” said Chatas. “Drawing on my experience across finance, operations, the energy sector, and startup environments, I’m eager to work alongside the team in support of its continued growth and innovation, while delivering long-term value for Path’s customers and partners.”
Ultimately, the appointments of Klein and Chatas come at a pivotal time as Path Robotics rapidly expands adoption of its physical AI solutions across global manufacturing sectors. Together, their combined operational, financial, and strategic expertise significantly strengthens the board, positioning Path Robotics for sustained growth and long-term industry leadership.
