Oracle has announced major upgrades to its Oracle Public Safety Suite, a unified hardware and software platform designed for law enforcement and first responders. The enhancements introduce officer-worn cameras, AI-enabled mobile voice controls, and advanced insights that improve situational awareness, helping first responders make faster, safer, and more objective decisions in critical moments.

“First responders need agile, intelligent technologies that enable increasingly data-driven mobile ecosystems with enhanced transparency, efficiency, and safety,” said Sean McCarthy, vice president of product, Oracle Local Government. “Oracle is deeply committed to partnering with agencies to constantly improve our platform to help them respond more effectively, increase first responder safety, reduce administrative burdens, and build trust within their communities.”

Enhanced Insights and Transparency

The platform now provides built-in analytics that give first responders comprehensive access to operational data, including computer-aided dispatch (CAD), mobile, records, jail, and digital evidence systems. Fast ad-hoc and scheduled reports, along with an AI chat assistant, allow users to generate and refine charts using simple commands like “filter to last week” or “make it a bar chart.” This accelerates decision-making without the need for a dedicated data analyst. Interactive operational dashboards display shift summaries, dispatch trends, priorities, and status timelines, with filters for dates, units, and locations.

The Oracle Public Safety Wearable Computer System, already in use by agencies such as Wright County, Minnesota, automatically activates upon dispatch and records interactions between officers and community members. This feature enhances transparency, trust, and accountability. Oracle’s streaming and connectivity technology also allows real-time video guidance to remote command centers, enabling on-scene responders to receive critical support as incidents unfold. Dispatch, verbal, and video data can be automatically incorporated into case reports, saving officers hours of paperwork every day.

New Features to Improve Field Operations

  • Mobile voice control for tablets: Officers can run license plate checks, record traffic stops, and dictate full reports via voice-to-text, keeping their hands free while increasing documentation speed. Purpose-built “next logical status” actions streamline routine updates.
  • Hands-free data querying: Natural-language commands, such as “Show incidents by priority for September 2025,” generate instant visualizations, while vehicle and individual data auto-populate incident workflows.
  • Audible officer-safety alerts: Critical flags trigger immediate on-screen and audio notifications, customizable to agency policies.
  • Fast property searches: Chain-of-custody details like date, time, and location are automatically captured for selected evidence.

Built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), the upgraded suite combines security, performance, and scalability, enabling agencies of all sizes to deploy quickly while reducing costs and operational complexity. These improvements aim to empower law enforcement agencies to enhance safety, efficiency, and transparency across communities.
