Vodafone has launched a new digital travel experience, providing a global Travel eSIM usable in 206 countries and across 700 mobile networks.

The service offers fast, affordable data and AI support – no need to change your number or network.

Travel eSIM offers data-only access for all carriers on eSIM-ready phones, tablets, and laptops. Customers just get up and go in minutes using the app download or by going to travel.vodafone.com. Once they choose a plan, they just receive an email with a QR code and activate it upon arrival.

Seamless Global Coverage for Travelers

Vodafone’s Travel eSIM now connects users across 206 destinations and integrates with more than 700 partner carriers, unlocking 5G connectivity in 98 nations. This positions it as one of the widest-reaching mobile data services available in today’s global market.

The service allows guests to stay online for a maximum of 90 days via bundles of 1 to 150 gigabytes. The service supports mobile hotspots, letting users share internet with laptops or companions—ideal for travelers.

Powered by GenAI: Smarter Customer Support

Vodafone’s online travel experience is backed by GenAI-powered customer support, or SuperTOBI. The digital assistant handles complex queries in multiple languages faster and more accurately than regular chatbots.

The AI-driven feature provides yet another layer of user experience, particularly for travelers who require instant assistance through the different sites and time zones.

Simple Setup in Easy Steps

Setup is simple:

  • Tap into your desired plan using the digital dashboard or phone interface.
  • Receive a QR code
  • eSIM is activated upon arrival
  • Begin surfing, streaming, or navigating
  • Customers retain their original SIM and number for calls and messages, but utilize the Travel eSIM for data.
  • Flexible, Transparent Pricing

Vodafone provides region-based pricing with flexible billing in several currencies. Prices begin at:

  • €4/$4/£3.50 for Europe
  • €6/$6/£5.50 for North America
  • €8/$8/£7 for the Middle East
  • €10/$11/£8.50 for Africa

All subscriptions are on offer to be activated in 30 days from purchase, and topping up or changing bundles based on travel requirements is feasible.

Margherita Della Valle, CEO of Vodafone, said: “With our new digital platform, we are offering users of all networks across the world a worry-free, easy-to-use travel experience in more than 200 countries. The Vodafone Travel eSIM service is set to be the ideal international data service for any mobile user.”

In Line with the Growing Market

This roll-out aligns with market forecast, as global expenditure on eSIM services will increase from €3.1 billion to nearly €7 billion by 2028. Travel eSIM does this with a fully digital, intuitive replacement of old SIMs and dubious “public Wi-Fi”.

84% of the 2,000 Vodafone customers polled would use such a service if it were reasonably priced, convenient, and allowed them to keep their current number.

Strategic Partnerships and Supplemental Value

Apart from that, Vodafone is also generating value on the platform from partnerships and bundled services. An example is the Uber One partnership, in which members across 44 countries in Europe enjoy Vodafone Travel eSIM benefits as one of their services.

Other products, such as travel insurance and co-branded offerings with other organizations, will be launched in waves over time, providing further richness to Vodafone’s digital travel service.

With this launch, Vodafone becomes one of the leading players in the expanding global mobile data market, with a quick, intelligent, and vigilant service for today’s connected traveler.
