Mobileye has taken a major strategic step toward Physical Artificial Intelligence by entering into a definitive agreement to acquire Mentee Robotics Ltd., an AI-first humanoid robotics startup known for its third-generation, vertically integrated humanoid robot. Through this acquisition, Mobileye plans to combine its advanced autonomous driving AI and large-scale production capabilities with Mentee’s cutting-edge humanoid robotics platform and deep AI expertise. As a result, the company aims to establish leadership across two rapidly converging markets autonomous vehicles and humanoid robotics.
Notably, this move comes at a time when Mobileye continues to gain strong momentum in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and vehicle autonomy. The company currently reports an automotive revenue pipeline of $24.5 billion projected over the next eight years, representing more than a 40 percent increase compared to January 2023. Building on this growth, the acquisition significantly broadens Mobileye’s scope by advancing its long-term vision for Physical AI systems capable of understanding context, inferring intent, interacting naturally with humans, and operating safely and efficiently in real-world environments.

Moreover, Mobileye’s evolution beyond goal-driven navigation toward context-aware and intent-aware reasoning provides a strong foundation for general-purpose humanoid robots. These systems are designed to work productively alongside humans while meeting strict safety and scalability requirements. Consequently, the integration of Mentee’s technology is expected to accelerate the commercialization of humanoid robots, with autonomous on-site proof-of-concept deployments planned for 2026 and series production targeted for 2028.
From a financial perspective, the total consideration for the acquisition is set at $900 million, subject to customary adjustments. This includes approximately $612 million in cash and up to 26.2 million shares of Mobileye Class A common stock. The transaction remains subject to standard closing conditions and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
Meanwhile, Mentee has demonstrated remarkable progress in just four years. The company has developed a cost-efficient humanoid platform built for scalable deployment, combining in-house hardware with an AI architecture focused on human-to-robot mentoring, few-shot learning, and simulation-first training. Unlike approaches that rely heavily on teleoperation or massive real-world data collection, Mentee’s platform enables robots to learn new skills from natural human demonstrations, ensuring predictable and safe interactions.
In addition, Mentee’s humanoids deliver robust out-of-the-box capabilities, including advanced scene understanding, natural instruction following, autonomous task execution, and safe object manipulation. Development is rapidly advancing toward few-shot generalization, which allows robots to learn new tasks after only a handful of demonstrations. This capability positions humanoid robots as both collaborative partners and effective labor multipliers across industries.

Strategically, the acquisition unlocks powerful synergies between vehicle autonomy and humanoid robotics. Both domains require reliable operation in human-centric environments, verifiable safety, efficient edge computing, and scalable deployment. Therefore, a shared Physical AI stack spanning perception, world modeling, intent-aware planning, and decision-making naturally connects the two.
“Today marks a new chapter for robotics and automotive AI, and the beginning of Mobileye 3.0,” said Prof. Amnon Shashua, President and CEO of Mobileye. “By combining Mentee’s breakthroughs in humanoid robotics with Mobileye’s expertise in automotive autonomy, and its proven ability to productize advanced AI, we have a unique opportunity to lead the evolution of physical AI across robotics and autonomous vehicles on a global scale.”
Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Lior Wolf, CEO of Mentee Robotics, stated: “I am immensely proud of what Mentee’s multidisciplinary team has accomplished in just four years. We set out to build a platform that combines cutting-edge AI with deeply integrated hardware to make humanoid robots truly useful in real-world environments. Joining forces with Mobileye gives us access to unparalleled AI infrastructure and commercialization expertise, accelerating our mission to bring scalable, safe, and cost-effective humanoid solutions to market.”
Following board approvals from Mobileye and Intel, Mentee will continue to operate as an independent unit within Mobileye. At the same time, it will leverage Mobileye’s advanced AI training infrastructure to accelerate innovation, further reinforcing Mobileye’s long-term leadership in Physical Artificial Intelligence.
