Liquid AI, a trailblazer in efficient foundation models born out of MIT, has partnered with Brilliant Labs, the open-source pioneer in smart wearables. Together, they will integrate Liquid’s vision-language foundation models (LFMs) into Brilliant’s innovative AI glasses. Under the agreement, Brilliant Labs will license both current and future multimodal LFMs, enabling its products to deliver advanced scene-understanding capabilities.

Ramin Hasani, co-founder and CEO of Liquid AI, emphasized the company’s mission to deliver sustainable yet powerful AI. He stated, “At Liquid, we build efficient generative AI models that demonstrate the quality and reliability of models orders of magnitude larger. Our commitment to delivering the highest quality AI solutions with the lowest energy footprint truly unlocks high-stakes use cases on any device. I strongly believe in glasses as a viable form factor for the future of hyper-personalized human-AI interaction. Brilliant Labs has been on the verge of building this future with their AI glasses products. We’re excited to bring our best-in-class, private, and efficient on-device LFMs to their customers.”

By incorporating Liquid’s advanced models, Brilliant Labs will further strengthen its flagship product line, including the Halo AI glasses. Known as the go-to open-source platform for developers and creatives, Halo has redefined the wearables market with first-of-their-kind features. These include AI memory, real-time conversational AI, and Vibe Mode all delivered within an open and privacy-focused framework. This integration not only raises the bar for wearable computing but also expands possibilities for users worldwide.

Highlighting the shared values between the two companies, Bobak Tavangar, CEO of Brilliant Labs, noted, “The future of computing must be open, private, and personal. These are core values we share with Liquid and their incredibly innovative foundation models are a perfect fit for Halo and Brilliant’s open source AI glasses platform. The speed and efficiency of LFM2-VL-450M enables us to build a whole new class of AI features atop our glasses hardware platform and we’re just getting started.”

At the heart of this collaboration lies Liquid’s LFM2-VL, the company’s first series of vision-language foundation models. Supporting both text and image inputs with variable resolutions, LFM2-VL combines a compact yet powerful vision encoder of 86M parameters with the 350M LFM2 base model. This architecture allows the model to deliver detailed, accurate, and creative scene descriptions from camera sensors with millisecond latency on both CPUs and GPUs. As a result, the technology provides real-time intelligence directly on the device, making it a game-changer for smart wearables.

With this partnership, Liquid AI and Brilliant Labs are not only redefining the future of AI glasses but also paving the way for open, energy-efficient, and highly personalized human-AI interactions.
