Huawei introduced a new initiative to accelerate artificial intelligence education during MWC Barcelona 2026. At a summit titled “Education + AI, Embracing an Intelligent Future,” the company joined customers and industry partners to unveil its Artificial Intelligence Education Center (AIEC) solution designed specifically for basic education. Through this initiative, Huawei aims to promote the widespread adoption of AI learning while making technology education more accessible to students around the world.
During the event, Li Junfeng, Huawei Vice President and Executive Director of the Global Public Sector Business Unit, highlighted the company’s vision for AI-driven education. He emphasized that the success of future AI education depends on accessibility and inclusion. According to him, the goal is to ensure that AI learning reaches the largest possible audience with minimal barriers.

He stated, “the core of future AI education is achieving ‘the lowest threshold and the broadest coverage.’”
Huawei positions itself as both a technology enabler and an ecosystem builder in the evolving digital education landscape. By working closely with industry partners and educational institutions, the company continues to design innovative and practical solutions tailored to modern classroom environments. As a result, the newly introduced AIEC solution focuses on expanding AI education in primary and secondary schools. Ultimately, the platform aims to help students explore advanced technologies early in their academic journey while preparing them for the digital economy.
To support this vision, Huawei built the AIEC solution on a strong technology foundation. The platform integrates advanced computing infrastructure that includes hardware systems, modeling services, application platforms, and an AI lab management and teaching system. Together, these components create a structured environment where students can learn AI fundamentals through experiments, practical applications, and curated curriculum resources. Consequently, the program helps students of different age groups gain essential AI knowledge and technical skills that will be valuable in future industries.
Moreover, Huawei has already begun implementing the solution in Zhejiang Province, China. Through partnerships with organizations such as CourseGrading, the company has introduced a comprehensive AI-powered learning platform to more than 500 primary and secondary schools. This educational system provides access to powerful AI computing capabilities, large-scale open-source models, and a diverse collection of hands-on learning resources. In addition, students can engage with over 10 practical AI projects and explore more than 50 experimental tools and applications, enabling them to experience AI technologies in real-world scenarios. Huawei expects the program to eventually reach over one million students as it expands further.

These demonstrations highlighted how AI tools can enhance learning experiences while encouraging innovation among students and educators.
Furthermore, the initiative aims to provide scalable and replicable models that other institutions around the world can adopt. By sharing practical implementation frameworks, Huawei hopes to support the broader digital transformation of education across global school systems.
Overall, Huawei’s AIEC solution marks an important step in merging artificial intelligence with modern education. As the company continues to expand its ecosystem with global partners, it plans to develop new educational technologies that empower students and teachers alike. Ultimately, Huawei believes that combining AI innovation with inclusive learning opportunities will help unlock every child’s potential while advancing both technological progress and educational equity worldwide.
