At the 2025 Bett UK, EDT&Partners announced Lecture, the first of its kind, license-free, open-source, generative AI framework designed for education organizations. These institutions can now do a no-code deployment of Lecture in their Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure and easily start building safe generative-AI use cases like question generation, transcriptions, OCR, translations and rubric-based assessments while facilitating the integration with other systems like their LMS.

“We’re in a pivotal moment: for the first time, significant, cutting-edge technology end solutions are available to users (teacher/student/admins) and large organizations simultaneously,” said Pablo Langa, Founder and Managing Partner at EDT&Partners. “This has led to an explosion of use cases, as companies and educators have rushed to adopt generative AI for their use.” However, this phenomena has raised questions about generative-AI use cases across technology providers, inquiries around data ownership/data privacy, and a lack of enterprise-based generative-AI solutions. In addition, pricing remains a major hurdle for education leaders to implement generative AI confidently at scale, especially in developing economies.

“We’re in a pivotal moment: for the first time, significant, cutting-edge technology end solutions are available to users (teacher/student/admins) and large organizations simultaneously,”

The Lecture framework has been built by EDT&Partners and it is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). It helps organizations of all sizes accelerate and safely deploy generative AI use cases. Lecture can be quickly and flexibly deployed and will be initially available on GitHub and the AWS Marketplace. Currently, Lecture offers eight use cases out of the box, and there is an ambitious roadmap to include as many as 15 use cases before the end of 2025. The framework also centralizes data ingestion and interoperability with other important systems like LMSs. “We have an LTI Moodle integration and we are rapidly incorporating integrations for the major Learning Management Systems in the industry”, mentioned Benito Castellanos, Vice-President of Technology at EDT&Partners.

The EDT&Partners and AWS teams have been piloting Lecture collaboratively with a handful of universities and EdTechs. Langa is clear, “Community and collaboration are crucial factors for a successful use of generative AI in education. We understand this is a marathon and not a sprint, and we are immediately inviting other thought leaders in the space to contribute to Lecture.”

Eric Tschirhart, Professor of Physiology at the University of Luxembourg said, “The Lecture pilot we have just concluded in the Bachelor in Medicine has been transformative. We were able to fully customize and re-purpose the knowledge and ingested data into different generative-AI use cases. We look forward to continue working with EDT&Partners and AWS to safely and quickly advance the needs of our faculty and students when it comes to generative AI.”

Because Lecture can be deployed in an organization’s AWS cloud infrastructure, the open-source framework provides full granular control of data, the opportunity to apply specific policies and governance, and also the ability to pick and choose specific LLMs for different use cases and purposes.” In education, it is crucial to provide observability and control over the source corpus of data and cost structures”, said Pablo Langa, Founder & Managing Partner at EDT&Partners. “With Lecture we enable users of Lecture to optimize their infrastructure budgets and deploy some of the latest and most effective LLMs like Claude from Anthropic or Nova from AWS, on-demand, with a simple click of a button and configuration.”

An important part of the Lecture 2025 roadmap will be devoted to providing Lecture users the DIY ability to bring to life new or bespoke generative-AI use cases in a simple manner. “We are providing an additional abstraction layer above AWS Bedrock and the right interoperability and governance components for a safe and effective usage of generative AI in Education”, concluded Pablo.
