Campus, the innovative online two-year college designed for learners seeking faster, more affordable higher education, has announced the acquisition of Sizzle AI, an AI-driven learning platform founded by former Meta AI chief Jerome Pesenti. Following the acquisition, Pesenti will join Campus as Chief Technology Officer, leading a team of machine learning scientists from MIT, Harvard, and IBM Watson to drive engineering efforts at the Series B startup. Sizzle AI has already raised over $100 million from prominent investors, including Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Bloomberg Beta, Sam Altman, Shaquille O’Neal, Joe Lonsdale, Jason Citron, and Dylan Field.
“Acquiring Sizzle accelerates our engineering roadmap by 2-3 years – they’ve built the best AI team in education and their infrastructure is so far ahead of anyone else – it’s super exciting,” said Tade Oyerinde, founder and Chancellor of Campus. “Campus students already learn from the best professors from the top schools in the country – now after class ends they’ll also have access to a learning platform that actually understands what they know and adapts to help them achieve mastery faster than anything on the market today.”

Founded in 2023, Sizzle AI developed an AI learning app that supports over 1.7 million users in mastering subjects through interactive, AI-generated content. Campus plans to integrate this technology alongside its live online courses, helping students maintain progress, address challenges, and accelerate their academic journey. Faculty members at Campus, many of whom also teach at leading universities such as Stanford, UCLA, and Howard, will leverage Sizzle AI to gain real-time insights into student performance, enabling more personalized instruction, targeted feedback, and stronger student engagement.
“Big Tech has spent years building AI to keep people scrolling. But we’re harnessing the potential of the very same technology to cultivate thought, encourage inquiry, and deepen human relationships,” said Jerome Pesenti, founder of Sizzle AI. “At Campus, we’re going to be asking the big questions about letting students learn more effectively, while empowering great teachers to do what they do best.”
