SK Telecom has officially entered into a three-party memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Supermicro and Schneider Electric to develop a comprehensive solution for Artificial Intelligence Data Centers (AIDC). The companies signed the agreement during MWC26, marking a strategic move to streamline AI infrastructure deployment worldwide.
Through this collaboration, the three global leaders aim to significantly shorten AI data center construction timelines. At the same time, they plan to ease ongoing supply chain bottlenecks by combining their technological strengths and operational expertise. As demand for AI computing surges globally, this initiative directly addresses one of the industry’s most pressing challenges delivering scalable, high-performance infrastructure quickly and efficiently.

Pre-Fabricated Modular Model to Transform AIDC Construction
Under the agreement, the partners will co-develop a pre-fabricated modular model that integrates AI computing servers with essential power and cooling systems into a single pre-manufactured unit. Unlike traditional steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) construction methods where infrastructure and servers are installed sequentially after the building is completed this modular approach enables a building-block configuration.
As a result, operators can deploy AI data centers faster while also improving overall cost efficiency. Furthermore, this model allows companies to roll out modules in phases as demand increases. Consequently, businesses can scale operations gradually, reduce heavy upfront capital expenditure, and respond more flexibly to evolving market dynamics.
Defined Roles to Deliver an Integrated AI Infrastructure Solution
Each company will contribute specialized expertise to ensure the success of the initiative:
- SK Telecom will bring its extensive AIDC operational knowledge and AI business capabilities.
- Supermicro will supply high-performance, GPU-optimized servers designed for customer-specific AI computing workloads.
- Schneider Electric will provide advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure design and construction expertise to support large-scale AI operations reliably.
By aligning their strengths, the three organizations intend to deliver a fully integrated, end-to-end AI data center solution tailored to hyperscalers and enterprise customers worldwide.
Industry Leaders Emphasize Speed, Sustainability, and Scalability
“Through collaboration with global leaders in the AIDC business, we are advancing a total solution based on a pre-fabricated modular model,” said Ha Min-yong, Head of SK Telecom’s AIDC Business. “Building on this initiative, we aim to proactively address the AIDC deployment needs of global hyper-scalers while further strengthening our cost competitiveness.”
