Fujitsu Limited has officially announced the launch of its AI-Driven Software Development Platform, marking a major step toward bringing software engineering into the modern AI era. With this new initiative, Fujitsu aims to not only transform the way software is created but also support the long-term sustainable growth of businesses and society as a whole.
Traditionally, software development requires extensive human effort across multiple stages. However, Fujitsu’s new platform changes that completely. It automates the entire development lifecycle, starting from requirements definition and system design all the way through implementation and integration testing. As a result, organizations can expect much faster development cycles and improved responsiveness to change.

At the core of this innovation is Fujitsu’s Takane LLM, combined with advanced agentic AI technology developed by Fujitsu Research. These AI agents can deeply understand large-scale and constantly evolving enterprise systems, including those operated by public organizations. Furthermore, instead of relying on a single AI model, the platform deploys multiple AI agents that collaborate at each stage of development. This enables full automation of the entire process without requiring human intervention.
Looking ahead, Fujitsu plans to apply this platform to revise all 67 types of medical and government business software products provided by Fujitsu Japan Limited by the end of fiscal year 2026. These revisions are essential because of ongoing legal and regulatory updates. Notably, since January 2026, the platform has already been actively used in Japan for software changes required by the 2026 medical fee revisions.
In addition, Fujitsu conducted a proof of concept (PoC) based on the 2024 medical fee revisions, and the results were remarkable. One of approximately 300 change requests was completed in a fraction of the usual time. Under conventional development methods, the modifications would have required three person-months. With Fujitsu’s AI-driven approach, the same work was completed in just four hours delivering a 100-fold boost in productivity.

Moreover, this platform is expected to dramatically improve the speed at which software can be updated when legal amendments or system modifications occur. Fujitsu also emphasizes the importance of AI-Ready Engineering, a process that prepares system assets and organizational knowledge so AI can correctly interpret existing environments and deliver highly reliable automation.
By combining AI-Ready Engineering with the AI-Driven Software Development Platform, Fujitsu intends to accelerate AI-powered software development even further. At the same time, the company plans to transform engineers’ work styles by strengthening its Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) approach. Ultimately, Fujitsu hopes to shift software development away from traditional person-month measurements toward a customer value-based model.
With this bold move, Fujitsu is positioning itself at the forefront of AI-driven innovation, redefining how software will be built in the years ahead.
