Ouster, Inc., a recognized leader in sensing and perception technologies for Physical AI, has officially completed its acquisition of StereoLabs SAS, a trailblazer in AI-driven vision and perception solutions. The deal closed on February 4, 2026, marking a major milestone for the company as it expands its capabilities in real-world autonomy.

With this strategic move, Ouster now delivers what it calls Physical AI’s first fully unified sensing and perception platform. By bringing together high-performance digital lidar, advanced stereo cameras, AI compute, sensor fusion, perception software, and next-generation AI models, the company is positioning itself at the center of the rapidly evolving autonomy ecosystem.

StereoLabs, founded in 2010, has earned a strong reputation for producing high-quality 3D vision systems designed for advanced perception. Over the years, the company has shipped more than 90,000 ZED cameras to over 10,000 customers worldwide. In addition, its perception software has gained the trust of thousands of developers who rely on it for industrial-grade robotics, smart infrastructure, and automation solutions.

Importantly, StereoLabs’ leadership team will remain in place. Co-founders Cecile Schmollgruber, Edwin Azzam, and Olivier Braun will continue guiding the StereoLabs organization, ensuring continuity for its customers and developer community.

StereoLabs CEO Cecile Schmollgruber highlighted the growing need for sensor integration, stating, “The future of autonomy isn’t about choosing between vision or lidar, it’s about unifying them.” She further added, “By combining StereoLabs’ AI vision with Ouster’s digital lidar, we are creating the world’s most capable perception platform to directly address customers’ primary sensor fusion requirements and enable machines to sense, think, act, and learn in the physical world.”

Ouster CEO Angus Pacala also emphasized how the acquisition strengthens the company’s long-term strategy. “This acquisition builds on Ouster’s momentum and positions us as the foundational end-to-end sensing and perception platform for Physical AI,” he said. Pacala noted that StereoLabs is widely respected for its stereo cameras and AI vision software, making it a natural addition to Ouster’s next growth phase.

Through seamless sensor fusion, Ouster aims to meet increasing demand as industries shift beyond basic automation toward full Physical AI deployment. Together, the combined platform is expected to simplify development, reduce customer costs, accelerate AI model training, and bring thousands of new customers into the Ouster ecosystem.

Beyond technology expansion, the acquisition also supports financial growth. StereoLabs generated approximately $16 million in unaudited revenue in 2025 and operates as an EBITDA-positive business, reinforcing Ouster’s path toward profitability.

Overall, this acquisition strengthens Ouster’s market reach across robotics, industrial automation, humanoid robotics, and smart infrastructure helping accelerate the future of real-world autonomous systems.
