Board, a leading enterprise planning platform provider, has officially unveiled Board Agents, a new intelligent suite of domain-specific AI agents built on Microsoft Foundry. With this launch, Board strengthens its commitment to helping enterprises make smarter, faster, and more confident planning decisions across finance, supply chain, and merchandising. By leveraging Microsoft Azure’s agentic AI tools and services, the company aims to accelerate secure, cloud-native AI innovation while delivering measurable business value.

As organizations increasingly explore AI adoption, many still struggle to translate innovation into real return on investment. To address this challenge, Board designed Board Agents specifically for real-world planning scenarios. Notably, this marks the first enterprise planning capability from Board developed using Microsoft Foundry, signaling a deeper integration of AI into its core planning engine rather than a surface-level enhancement.

Initially, the company is rolling out FP&A and Controller Agents tailored for the Office of Finance. Shortly after, Merchandiser and Supply Chain Agents are expected to follow. Because these agents are built natively into the Board Enterprise Planning Platform, they operate within a secure and governed environment. As a result, organizations can confidently apply agentic AI to high-impact planning use cases without compromising data integrity or governance.

“As interest in AI accelerates, many customers are looking for clear paths to achieve real ROI,” said David Marmer, Chief Product Officer. “Because Board Agents are built around business-contextual use cases that solve real-world problems, customers can reach value faster and easily adapt these agents as their business evolves. We’re not bolting AI onto Board we’re embedding it deeply into our engine, so it understands customers’ data, processes, and data-access policies.”

What truly differentiates Board Agents is their persona-based and use-case-specific design. Each agent is created to support a specific planning role, ensuring immediate relevance and contextual awareness. Furthermore, in complex planning environments, Board Agents collaborate through multi-agent orchestration, allowing them to work together across functions and priorities.

In addition, Board Agents demonstrate a deep understanding of an organization’s planning model. Since they operate on the same data, assumptions, and calculations already used by teams, insights remain consistent and actionable. When combined with Board Foresight, the agents also enhance forecasting and scenario planning capabilities, helping teams evaluate trade-offs, model outcomes, and better understand external market influences.

As Adam Hancock, Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis at EBSCO Industries said, “What impresses me most is the FP&A Agent’s ability to triangulate. It takes our detailed balance sheet and income statement and synthesizes everything into clear, actionable insights incredibly valuable for us at EBSCO.”

Built for enterprise-scale deployment, Board Agents benefit from Board’s close collaboration with Microsoft. “Deploying AI in the enterprise requires flexibility, governance, and a foundation of trust,” said Peter Skov, Senior Director of EMEA at Microsoft. “Built on Microsoft Foundry, Board Agents are designed using a multi-agent orchestration approach to quickly adapt as AI technology evolves, while maintaining strong ethical controls for accuracy, security, and data privacy. Our collaboration with Board helps organizations apply AI responsibly in complex planning environments where confidence in the results is critical.”

The FP&A and Controller Agents will be available globally starting March 31, 2026, including via the Microsoft Marketplace, while Merchandiser and Supply Chain Agents are expected to follow soon after, further expanding Board’s AI-driven planning ecosystem.
